It is the mission of the Ironworkers’ Local 16 Joint Apprentice and Journeyman Training Program to train efficient and highly skilled Ironworkers in numbers that will adequately supply the needs of the construction industry throughout the Baltimore region. The purpose of apprenticeship is to ensure careful selection of persons entering the trade to ensure diversity and to train those persons so that they will be equipped for profitable, safe employment and good citizenship. Further, to assure qualified workers are provided to the signatory contractors to the end that the public may receive the highest quality product available. Construction Training School: John R.
