Ironworkers Local Union 16 is a chapter of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Ironworkers. Ironworkers Local 16 is affiliated with the AFL-CIO and the Baltimore Building and Construction Trades Council. Members of Ironworkers Local 16 are highly skilled craftsmen serving the many types of contractors in the "Union Ironworking Industry." Local 16 Ironworkers complete a three year apprenticeship and are trained in skills such as the erection of structural steel, miscellaneous steel, metal curtainwall and windowall systems, precast concrete structures, fences, towers, pre-engineered metal buildings, and other steel structures. If you are 65 or older, you may be eligible for Lifetime Membership, please contact the Union Hall for details. Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving & Christmas Day. Vacation Checks: Issued in June and December of each year.
